Congratulations to Etienne Cremieux who has been selected as the 2009 recipient of the Grey Fox Bill Vernon Memorial Scholarship. A high school senior and gifted fiddler from Brookline, MA, Etienne will be attending Berklee College of Music in the fall. His band, Red Hot Black Top was also invited to play at Grey Fox at the new showcase sessions at the Masters Stage. Etienne and Red Hot Black Top will play at the Masters Stage on both Friday and Saturday evenings (exact time TBA). As a student of the Grey Fox Bluegrass Academy for Kids, we have watched Etienne’s musical abilities soar over the past six years. We hope you all get a chance to hear Etienne and his hot young band at Grey Fox this summer. They’ve got it all. Again, congratulations, Etienne. Hugely deserved! We should mention, too, that this was no easy feat. There were several applicants for this annual scholarship with excellent credentials and abilities from all regions of the US, Canada and even Japan.
