Looks great, dance tent next to quiet camping though? Love the suggestion to leave your couch at home this year;-)

I saw the dance tent spot and wondered how the people in the quiet camping were going to enjoy the red stick ramblers until 1 am. I know I’ll be at the dance tent, and I know it won’t be quiet!

Quiet camping, firstly, doesn’t mean that you can hear a pin drop. It means minimal noise: no jamming, no sitting up all night talking loudly. It means being mindful that the folks next to you want to settle down at a certain hour. There’s a big difference between listening to staged music in the distance (which will be pointed toward Pickers Paradise) and listening to your neighbors laughing, picking and partying right next to your tent until the cows come home. Also remember: on a map, things look very close together. In reality, you can get quite far away from the Dance Tent. And think positively. Where else can you drift off to sleep listening to some of the best dance music on the planet? We listened to campers after last year’s festival and many with families wanted to camp near the Family and BGA Tents (and we can’t change the location of the stages). By the way, at the Rothvoss Farm, Quiet Camping was right next door to the Dance Tent. I believe we have a choice: let conditions bother us and ruin our fun, or to realize we’re at a festival and go with the flow. We need to be easy with this. It’ll be perfect if we think it is! Hey… pack your earplugs wherever you’re camped! Let’s all have a great time. Look at the good things!

You understood me wrong, I prefer falling asleep listening to music, don’t want to camp in quiet camping. Dance tent next to quiet camping was merely an observation, that’s all…

I had the same observation both before and during the festival. The dance tent was thumping at 1 AM mere feet from the quiet camping signs stating quiet at 10 PM. I love the music, particularly that it never stops! I’m not a quiet camper and always plant ourselves in Pickers Paradise, so I can’t vouch for anyone in quiet camping. I’m just not sure it made much sense. IN fact the far end of Pickers Paradise DID end up being quiet camping. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO AND FOR ANOTHER FANTASTIC YEAR!!!
