And the “Best Campsite Award” for 2009 goes to….
Each year, our recycling team makes the rounds throughout the campground and selects the best campsite. With our move last year to Greene County and to the Walsh Farm, we felt it was time to award the annual prize (a pair of tickets to next year’s show) to the campsite that best combines creativity, conservation of space and recycled materials. This year’s “Best Campsite” was all those things, as you’ll see in the accompanying images.
The winners created adjoining campsites that perfectly embodied creativity, conservation and reuse. Sharing this year’s prize are David High of Athens, NY; Deb Parker and her son, Earl Thomasson of New Baltimore, NY and their friends, Ralph Delpozzo and Jackie Keveson (from parts unknown). The site was created entirely of second hand or handmade items, a gorgeous array of potted flowers, tapestries, baskets of fresh vegetables, used furniture, and fun stuff decorated by the camp’s resident child named Earl.
Everywhere your eyes settled, there was a well-planned detail that ignited one smile after the next—from the second hand country-western shirt draped over an old rocker to a model airplane handpainted by the youngest member of the group. So, congratulations to this team of talented designers and happy campers.
Enjoy the slide show! What fun! And good luck to every camper next year! These guys have upped the ante, for sure!

How nice! Was your campsite up on the stage hill in the back there? I really have to make sure to take a walk on back there next year. There were alot of great campers up there this year, which created more camping space down below. Anyway, nice campsite and congratulations.
