“Sierra Hull at Berklee” on Yahoo!

Here’s the “Sierra at Berklee” video that she and the college worked on with Yahoo a couple of weeks back. It’s a great “inside” tour of Berklee College of Music featuring Sierra as your very own personal guide. Video includes a chat with Kathy Mattea, a songwriting class with Mark Simos, etc. Very nicely done.

ABOUT YVETTE LANDRY…

“Rooted in country music, drawing on Cajun, blues & rock n roll… telling stories that sound like it actually happened, songs where you can still hear a heart breaking…. ”
–BILL KIRCHEN

Yvette Landry comes from a long and venerable line of musicians (her grandpa was Lucien Landry of the Bill Landry Orchestra & The Louisiana Six) and she started out playing in her hometown of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana with the Lafayette Rhythm Devils, graduating to the all female Cajun super group Bonsoir Caitin. From touring the world as a multi-instrumentalist, to performing with the likes of Balfa Toujours, Redstick Ramblers, Pine Leaf Boys, Walter Mouton, Steve Riley, Dirk Powell, Donna the Buffalo, Bill Kirchen, Carol McComb, John Lilly, Geraldine Gay and Darrell Scott, Yvette has made a name for herself as a powerful accompanist. (She’s been called the Queen of the Cajun bass.) This past year, Yvette produced her first solo album, “Should’ve Known,” with help from Joel Savoy and members of the Red Stick Ramblers. The album’s full of Yvette’s originals and getting rave reviews: it’s more vintage country than Cajun but given her roots, it’s hard to deny the Cajun dance hall accent.

PS: On a related note: The Red Stick Ramblers will be with us at Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in Oak Hill, NY on July 14, 15 and 16 this summer. We’re also privileged to have them as our host band at Rhythm & Roots Festival, in Charlestown, RI, on Labor Day Weekend, September 2, 3 and 4.  Tickets to each of these events are now on sale at the Early Bird Special Price.
