Comment on Grey Fox at IBMA by Mary Burdette

The Grey Fox crew (plus the Thirsty Lizards) had a very busy and productive week at IBMA this year. The week was packed with educational seminars and a professional trade show during the day, and artist showcases all over the hotel and convention center each night. We heard a lot of bands and are excited about planning next year's festival.

Thanks to Mary Tyler Doub who was her eloquent self while kicking off the week's activities by introducing Keynote Speaker Roger Brown, president of Berklee College of Music.

Also at IBMA from the Grey Fox staff were Lisa Husted, Janet Brightly, Rousby Quesenberry, Caroline Isachsen... Main Stage manager John Rossbach... Yoga leader Lucy Weberling, Bluegrass Academy for Kids teachers Ira Gitlin, Cathy Goode, Ben Pearce, Mark Panfil, Akira Otsuka and Louis Kaplan... I'm sure I'm missing quite a few Grey Fox movers and shakers. Lots of Grey Fox fans were there -- way too many to mention. Suffice it to say that we were there in large numbers.

If you're not familiar with IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association), check it out on line at http://www.ibma.org. Check out the winners of this year's Award Show (and all sorts of other information). It's a great organization. Please consider joining. Your membership supports bluegrass in a big way.

Did you know that Mary Doub is also the current chairperson of the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY? You should check that out too. http://www.bluegrassmuseum.org. It's a great museum that every bluegrass fan should visit and support. You can start by doing a virtual tour on line right now!

Best
