All Four Days!
Dry Branch Fire Squad
I’ve seen audiences so convulsed with laughter
that minutes had to pass before the show could go on.”
— Joe Wilson, National Council of Traditional Arts
The Dry Branch Fire Squad has been the proud host band of Grey Fox ever since our first festival. For over four decades, the Dry Branch Fire Squad has traveled the byways of America as one of bluegrass music’s favorite bands – celebrated for its spry mix of front-porch standards, modern ballads, and the old-time sounds from which bluegrass first sprang.
Bandleader, Ron Thomason started out as a child and never got over it. With impeccable timing and delivery – in the tradition of a Mark Twain or a Will Rogers – Thomason’s humorous social commentaries, catchy lyrics and song choices make Dry Branch Fire Squad one of the most entertaining acts on the circuit. He has toured with the likes of Joe Isaacs, Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys, and Ricky Skaggs & Keith Whitley.
