John Kirk, Trish Miller & Quickstep
World-Class Dance Callers, Instructors
and Old-Timey Musicians
John Kirk and Trish Miller have toured all over the world from Carnegie Hall to the Academy of Culture in St. Petersburg, Russia. With a repertoire rooted in the local lore of the northeast woodlands they call home, their traditional tunes and witty songs, combined with brilliant picking and vibrant singing, always make their shows wholesome entertainment for all ages.
With his lyric voice, delightful sense of humor and fiery fiddling, John Kirk often stole the show touring with Walt Michael & Co. and Mac Benford & The Woodshed All-Stars. Trish is a renowned dance caller and country dance choreographer with a diverse repertoire of circle, square, contra and mixer dances. As a member of the Green Grass Cloggers, from Asheville, NC, Trish showcased world-caliber footwork. John and Trish both teach on the music faculty at Bennington College in Vermont and Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. John & Trish are often joined by yodelin’ Ed Lowman on bass, fiddle & vocals, Sarah Milanovich on fiddle, and occasionally by several other band mates when it suits the occasion.
