Beg Steal or Borrow
2017 Grey Fox Emerging Artist!
Beg Steal or Borrow was formed in early 2013 with a mission to resurrect the music of Old and In The Way. Since their debut performing the entire self-titled Old and In The Way album to a packed house at Burlington, Vermont’s Higher Ground, the group has toured from Northern Maine to Bermuda.
The band is comprised of seasoned musicians residing throughout Northern Vermont with credentials including mandolinist Geoff Goodhue having recently released an album with J.D. Hutchison and Tim O’Brien on Howdy Skies records and fiddler Roland Clark’s live duo collaboration with guitarist Bill Frisell. Roland channels Vassar Clements’ fiddling style so fully that you might close your eyes and believe Vassar is in the house. Banjo player Luke Auriemmo and Bassist Fran Forim are founders of Vermont’s outlaw bluegrass quartet, The Mud City Ramblers. Guitarist and singer Jeremy Sicely was awarded the Times Argus 2017 male vocalist of the year through the 2016 recording of his family outfit The Hillside Rounders.
Begging stealing or borrowing everything but two nickels or a dime from Old and In The Way, Beg Steal or Borrow is thrilled to bring their musical convergence to Grey Fox this year! We’re happy to present them on the Creekside Stage Friday, July 14. If you love the music of Old and In the Way, you won’t want to miss a beat.
