Defined more by expressive songwriting and heartfelt harmonies rather than any one genre, Trout Steak Revival blends folk, indie, bluegrass and roots music into its own style of Americana. With newfound presence on the national scene, the Denver-based roots quintet has been featured in No Depression, Scene Magazine, and FolkWords UK, and is getting international airplay on major syndicated networks.

Their songwriting blends dynamic musicianship with intricately woven harmonies. The quintet shows a flare for nimble picking and all the right polish without sacrificing the raw power of well-executed bluegrass. Recently appearing on the Today Show, the band also won an Emmy Award for their soundtrack of original compositions for Rocky Mountain PBS, and won the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition. Trout Steak Revival was a 2016 IBMA Official Showcase Band and a 2016 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year Nominee.

Brighter Every Day

Wind on the Mountain

Trout Steak Revival’s newest album, Brighter Every Day, was produced by Chris Pandolfi, of the Infamous Stringdusters. The album contains eleven original tunes of bluegrass inspired mountain music, with each member of the band singing lead vocals on several tracks. The members of Trout Steak Revival are: Travis McNamara, banjo; Steve Foltz, mandolin & guitar; Will Koster, Dobro & guitar; Casey Houlihan, upright bass; and Bevin Foley, fiddle.

Keeping an eye on traditions of the past while boldly forging into new territory, Trout Steak takes us back to memories of whiskey, laughter, and the misty high country where the band was born.
