Grey Fox wins Bluegrass Event of the Year

Grey Fox won the Bluegrass Event of the Year for July 2008 at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s awards ceremony, Thursday, Oct. 1, in Nashville, Tenn. From left, Kitsy Kuykendall, Malin Zergiebel, Producer Mary Doub, Caroline Isachsen, Mary Burdette, Rousby Quesenberry and Janet Brightly. Mary Doub accepts the award from IBMA. Also nominated were the 33rd annual Tri-State Bluegrass Festival, from Kendallville, Ind., May 2008, and the 2008 Kawaguchi International Cross-Culture Festival, Kawagachi City, Japan.

And the “Best Campsite Award” for 2009 goes to….

Each year, our recycling team makes the rounds throughout the campground and selects the best campsite. With our move last year to Greene County and to the Walsh Farm, we felt it was time to award the annual prize (a pair of tickets to next year’s show) to the campsite that best combines creativity, conservation of space and recycled materials. This year’s “Best Campsite” was all those things, as you’ll see in the accompanying images. The winners created adjoining campsites that perfectly embodied creativity, conservation and reuse. It’s gonna be a great Saturday!

Good morning! The sun is shining big time. Big beautiful clouds are floating in the sky. And everything is drying out nicely after a soaking rain last night.As always, the show was terrific last night, despite the rain. Today promises to be a WONDERFUL day with more of a Who’s Who lineup all around the festival grounds. On the Main Stage, in order of appearance we have: Sarah Jarosz, Josh Williams, Sierra Hull, Dry Branch, Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum, Crooked Still, Marty Stuart, Ricky Skaggs, The SteelDrivers, and closing the show is the Tim O’Brien Band. Seeking Great Grey Fox Stories

As mentioned in our latest newsletter, we are producing a book of great Grey Fox stories, which we’re very happy about. We plan to complete the book by the end of the year, and to make it a success, we need your help! We are looking for 70 positive stories: 5 from each of 14 different categories. Stories may be submitted by fans, artists, staff or anyone who has had an extraordinary experience at Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival or any of the festivals at the Rothvoss Farm going back to 1976. “Your positive story” could range from your most memorable
