Nashville-based The Steeldrivers are a band that needs no introduction to the Grey Fox faithful. They weave bluegrass roots with country, soul, blues, and contemporary influences to create a unique and fresh sound. Each member brings seasoned expertise to the group, crafting a blend that’s both timeless and innovative. With their distinctive mix of bluegrass soul, they’ve made a mark in progressive bluegrass since 2005. Their music, while grounded in tradition, carries a passionate delivery and a gritty edge, forged early on when now country star Chris Stapleton was in the band. Nominated for four Grammys and winning Best Bluegrass Recording for “The Muscle Shoals Recordings” in 2015, The Steeldrivers continue to redefine the genre. The band features Richard Bailey on banjo, Tammy Rogers on fiddle, Mike Fleming on bass, Brent Truitt on mandolin, and Matt Dame on guitar.
Well… we went and made ourselves a gospel record for Gaither Records. We are really proud of if and sure hope you will give it a listen! Tammy and a few of her co-writers brought some really great new tunes to the project. We also put the SteelDrivers spin on several standards as well.
