These two creative powerhouses have been friends and musical collaborators for years. When we called Darol to try on the idea of he and Bruce performing together at Grey Fox 2024, he laughed and said, “Funny you should ask! Bruce is here now and we’re working on a new project. It’ll be done by July and we’d love to bring it to Grey Fox.” Talk about serendipity! We don’t know exactly what it’ll be yet, but we know it’ll be wonderful, and we’ll fill music fans in as we learn more. Leader of Molsky’s Mountain Drifters, Bruce Molsky also holds the title of “Visiting Scholar in the American Roots Music Program” at Berklee College of Music, where he is the go-to guy for the next generation of roots musicians. A short list of musicians with whom he has collaborated include Andy Irvine, Donal Lunny, Tony Trischka, Aly Bain, Jerry Douglas, Michael Doucet, Allison deGroot, etc. Freestyle fiddler, composer, producer and educator, Darol Anger is at home in a number of musical genres, some of which he helped to invent. He’s been an integral part of Republic Of Strings, Turtle Island String Quartet, David Grisman Quintet, The Montreux Band, Duo with Mike Marshall, his current touring group Mr Sun, and others. Stay tuned for more about Darol Anger & Bruce Molsky at Grey Fox.

“Bruce Molsky is one of those great players who ‘get it’: has all the links to the past but is happy not to be chained to it.”

Mark Knopfler

“An incredible power of history and tradition in his vocal.”
