We’re happy to announce the return of bluegrass trailblazer Missy Raines to the Grey Fox stage, this time with her own ensemble, Missy Raines & Allegheny. With fresh sounds from their new album “Highlander,” Missy brings a musical homage straight from the heart of West Virginia. A legendary bassist, vocalist, and songwriter, Missy has not only racked up 14 International Bluegrass Music Association honors, including 10 as “Bass Player of the Year,” but also earned a GRAMMY® nod in 2020 for “Best Bluegrass Album” for her album “Royal Traveler.” Many of our faithful will recall Missy’s previous visits with Martha & Eddie Adcock, with Jim Hurst, and of course with The New Hip. Fans can expect the same neo-progressive bluegrass vibes of her youth along with the experience she’s gained touring with the finest musicians in Nashville, this time with Allegheny members Tristan Scroggins (mandolin), Eli Gilbert (banjo), Ellie Hakanson (fiddle), and Ben Garnett (guitar). We’re talking innovation, yet deeply rooted in tradition. Only someone like Missy can pull this off.
