There’s something innately heartwarming having the son of a legend take center stage. It’s been a few years since we’ve had David “Dawg” Grisman to Grey Fox, and now Samson Grisman (bass) joins us to celebrate the music of his father and Jerry Garcia. Sam grew up listening to the duo and has been inspired to follow in his footsteps with his own innovations, of course. His band includes his best friends, who also happen to be some of the most talented musicians in the country: Ric Robertson (guitar, vocals), Chris J. English (drums, vocals), and Aaron Lipp (guitar, lap steel, banjo, vocals). Together, they play classic Dawg and Jerry songs, as well as their own, with a passion and joy for the music that is contagious and uplifting. The Sam Grisman Project is a band that honors the past, embraces the present, and looks to the future.
