Electric guitar enthusiasts take note! Dave Chappell, a Washington, DC native, is one of the most sought after and respected musicians in the area known for his virtuosic and tasteful telecaster performances. For years, he has won the coveted Washington Area Music Awards (WAMMIES) for ‘Musician of the Year’, ‘Rock Instrumentalist of the Year’, and ‘Roots Rock Instrumentalist of the Year’. He has performed with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends Jerry Lee Lewis, Sam Moore of Sam & Dave, Percy Sledge, Johnny Johnson, and guitar wizard, Danny Gatton. Dave can be heard frequently at DC area clubs such as Blues Alley, The Birchmere, JV’s Restaurant, 49 West, Hank Dietle’s Tavern, and Annapolis Smokehouse & Tavern. The Dave Chappell Band is a mix of blues, jazz, country, and everything in between, performing with Washington’s favorites Tommy Lepson and Bruce Swaim — and from time to time with Mitch Woods and His Rocket 88’s and Redd Volkaert from Merle Haggard’s Band. At Grey Fox, for the third year in a row, Dave will be joining his good friends in the Rockabilly band, Mark Gamsjager and The Lustre Kings PLUS sharing hot licks at his workshop on the Telecaster at the New Belgium Bells Gig Rig Stage.
